Like good old JR says when Stone cold wins a match, Obama Wins! Obama Wins! Obama Wins!. Senator Barack obama has won the US presidential elections with 333 votes. Looks like Triple Nelson has proved lucky for the african american! (111 - Single nelson, considered unlucky by certain goons)
Republican candidate John McCain gave a generous speech appreciating Obama and said he’d love to serve his nation even though he isn’t the president and requested all republican party supporters to do the same..

Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has come with a plan that sounds simply outrageous. Here is the billing plan
A user can use upto 600 units, on crossing it, he/she will charged 1.5 times the amount of units he/she consumes. Say for e.g if your power consumption is 700 units, your electricity bill will be charged for 700*1.5 = 1050 units. The worst part is, if you consume 601 units, you will be charged for 601+300.5 = 901.5 units!!
The worst part is 4 hours powercut in Suburbs.. Damn!

It is very well known that US debt to the World bank has crossed $10 trillion, thanks to the brilliant administration of George Walker Bush and his congress. The primary reason being the money spent by taxpayers to the troops in Iraq. Apart from that, the stock market crash has costed heavily too. But the total debt that the US govt has will be displayed in a Debt clock here

As you can see in the image, there are no digits to display the debt as $10,000,000,000,000. However, the clock’s inventor Seymour durst plans on replacing the clock with a lengthier version.

Merriam - Webster’s dictionary states the term
Turmoil - a state or condition of extreme confusion, agitation, or commotion.
But I guess one can safely edit the term in the dictionary as
Turmoil - International Stock market
I don’t know what started this extreme confusion, but since the battle between Senators Obama and McCain started, the stock market took a downward spiral. Adding insult to the injury is the bailout plan. According to me it is a stupid concept put forth by the Congress government of USA. Bush has lost it completely.
Here is an excerpt from NYTimes.COM
Q. The bailout program being negotiated by the Bush administration and Congressional leaders calls for the government to spend up to $700 billion to buy distressed mortgages. How did the politicians come up with that number, and could it go higher?
A. The recovery package cannot go higher than $700 billion without additional legislation. As for that figure, it lies between the optimistic estimate of $500 billion and the pessimistic guess of $1 trillion about the cost of fixing the financial mess. But the $700 billion is in addition to an $85 billion agreement on a bailout of the insurance giant American International Group, plus $29 billion in support that the government pledged in the marriage of Bear Stearns and JPMorgan Chase. On top of all that, the Congressional Budget Office says the federal bailout of the mortgage finance companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac could cost $25 billion.
Q. Who, really, is going to come up with the $700 billion?
A. American taxpayers will come up with the money, although if you are bullish on America in the long run, there is reason to hope that the tab will be less than $700 billion. After the Treasury buys up those troubled mortgages, it will try to resell them to investors. The Treasury’s involvement in the crisis and the speed with which Congress is responding could generate long-range optimism and raise the value of those mortgages, although it is impossible to say by how much.
So it would not be correct to think of the federal government as simply writing a check for $700 billion. It is just committing itself to spend that much, if necessary. But the bottom line is, yes, this bailout could cost American taxpayers a lot of money.
Q. So is it fair to say that Americans who are neither rich nor reckless are being asked to rescue people who are? What is in this package for responsible homeowners of modest means who might be forced out of their homes, perhaps for reasons beyond their control?
A. Yes, you could argue that people who cannot tell soybean futures from puts, calls and options are being asked to clean up the costly mess left by Wall Street. To make the bailout palatable to the public, it is being described as far better than inaction, which administration officials and members of Congress say could imperil the retirement savings and other investments of Americans who are anything but rich.
The last two lines clearly says the dialogue uttered by Rajini in Sivaji. “Rich getting richer and the Poor getting poorer”.

Well, for the past couple of days, there hasn’t been power holiday either in the morning or in the evening. Occasional 15 minutes power cut is there in the noon, but no power holiday. The impending water tank breakage problem has been fixed for good here. That means, life has started to go normally as it went before (till when??). I don’t know if the nuclear deal has got anything to do with the cancellation of power holiday, but whatever stopped it, I hope it has stopped load shedding for good.

Damn, this is really bad for India and Indians. Inflation soaring daily. All this galatta due to a barrel of crude oil! Damn those oil rigs and oil corporations. I agree we’re are exploiting our oil reserves at a fast pace and due to the lesser availability, the prices are soaring high. But can’t those men have some heart to bring down the price? They’re the unofficial gods of earth, deciding what will happen and in what manner.
People of earth must find out other applicable, plausible ways of transport. I agree that vehicles that run on solar energy, water and what not have come, but it hasn’t gained a widespread popularity. Neither do the people have trust on them. Awareness on alternative sources of energy is needed on a large scale. Plain and simple reason why people don’t wish to employ such methods is either laziness or fear.
Couple of years back, Our chemistry sir said that due to the movement of tectonic plates, oil fields are moving towards india, especially towards Jammu and Kashmir and that is the reason why Pakistan are fighting for Kashmir. I don’t really know how far this is true, and don’t wish to comment on political issues, but I do hope that whatever sir said is true and will happen soon.
Need to dig deep in this issue before making any claims. If I have posted anything obsolete or incorrect, please do comment and indicate it to me.
The latest catch word or hottest topic or whatever you may call it is Inflation. If you read newspapers or watch news, you’ll know that it has touched all time high of 8.75% in last 7 years.
So, what has caused this sudden rise? Experts blame it on how we calculate and say we are still retarded. Here is a nice article I saw at Rediff that speaks more about it. Finance Minister P Chidambaram quips ‘We have nothing else to do rather than remain patient’. Well, for how long?
The only thing inflation is doing apart from making the cost of living high, is that it is making the worth or value of money go down. Though IT people are getting paid high, the cost of commodities which is on a never ending rise is making the pay look like nothing. Too bad, this nation is going to the dogs.
